TALE OF A WILD MAN

Lets go away he said

With a smile on his face

I’ll take you there instead

Of this ol’ familiar place

He said come on let's be free

Let's get rid of all the pain

But you said that liberty

Was just dancing in your chains

But you knew how he'd be

Always fond of a nice story

His wild eyes are traveling

But his body's busy staying

I need to get away he said

His smile was now gone

‘Cuz inside he feels dead

‘Cuz inside he feels wrong

You realise what he's become

A man who melts in the sun

So when he sees you leave

Is when he ceases to believe

But you knew how it'd end

Your cheeks raw from the bitter wind

His wild eyes are traveling

And his body's busy laying

He'll search for you in everyone

And hate what he finds

Soon enough he'll get a gun

And clear the thoughts from his mind

But you knew how he'd be

Always fond of a nice story

His wild eyes were traveling

But his body’s busy staying

But you knew how it'd end

Your cheeks raw from the bitter wind

His wild eyes never got their fill

And his body's frozen still

Heretic

You sing songs about men

But mine are about the girls back then

We're far away but so close

You know I'll always miss you the most

But love has rules, just like every other art

I have an orthodox brain but a heretic heart

And I need to know

And I need to know if you feel the same

You sing the melodies that I dream

Your voice so pure, purer than an angel's scream

Each and every day we're closer to Peter's gate

I think we're just in time to be too late

But love has rules, just like every other art

I have an orthodox brain but a heretic heart

And I need to know

And I need to know if you feel the same

You always want what you can't get

I guess we'll never find a perfect fit

But love has rules, just like every other art

I have an orthodox brain but a heretic heart

And if you don’t stay, then who’ll play the part

And I need to know

And I need to know if we feel the same

Love Letter

Another sleepless night by your side

Another loveless look in your eye

I know what it means

It's the end of the ride

Goodbye my darling

I bid you Adieu

I knew it was coming

You have loved me true

Oh but don't cry

I'm still glad for the good times

Oh I don't want to know why

I know, this is just

A letter Goodbye

I've been listening

To the night

And the stars were whispering

In black and white

Our season of love came to pass

As summer does to fall

Our fingers released the grass

Where we gave it all

Oh but don't cry

I thank you for your time

Oh I refuse to know why

I put my trust in

A letter Goodbye

But that fire that couldn’t last

Left some heat in the coal

Maybe it’s a relic from the past

Or another’s heart you stole

Oh but don't cry

You have loved me, for the last time

Oh I’m afraid to know why

I regret what I spoke of

In this letter of love

In Between

It wasn’t who I was

Or everyone I’ve been

It was neither hate nor love

But something in between

It was a morning in December

Where the moon could still be seen

And I struggle to remember

If it was you, or me, or someone in between

We knew that it was over

That the leaves had turned from green

It wasn’t the fall, or the winter

But somewhere in between

We were good, in the eve

And in the morning we were mean

But we never could believe

What we had been in between

In between

Is where love is found

Neath the sky, above the ground

And we’re all stuck somewhere in between

That morning before last

I knew exactly what you meant

That all good things to pass

Have rules that must be bent

One day you’ll understand

After all details recur

I’ll say to all your demands

In between is the answer

In between

Is where love is found

Neath the sky, above the ground

And we’re all stuck somewhere in between

House of Song

It isn’t hard to find

Where the wars are fought

Love may be blind

But desire it is not

It is true

The system is shot

I remember you

But you already forgot

So you say you want me to stay

That I’m not just an infatuation

But I’m just a station on your way

I know I’m not your final destination

You said that I’m kind

But not enough for you

That I’m sometimes on your mind

But only passing through

So I write you this complaint

In the House of Song

And there I asked the saints

If we could both be wrong

If you say you want me to stay

That I’m not an infatuation

Then I'll remain a station on your way

I know I’m not your final destination

In the Eyes of the Lord

I see the shadows coming towards me

And I see the earth is rising

I thought I’d greet you on my knees

I expected you’d be waiting

But there’s nothing more

Than these shadows above me

I thought after the war

I’d be free

I was seeking some kind of reward

But I was weak in the eyes of the Lord

I set out to fight a country

A people I have never known

I did it for a winged sentry

I did it for my kingdom’s throne

And after the promise of glory

We rushed into the fight

We thought they’d sing our story

By the fire some summer night

But there’s nothing more

Than these shadows above me

I thought after the war

We’d be free

I thought that if I fought by the sword

I wouldn’t be weak in the eyes of the Lord

Then I saw the eyes that killed me

And I finally understood

That if you chose to fight for glory

Then you may never fight for good

I need nothing more

Than these shadows above me

Who knew that the war

Would set me free?

Maybe if I forgive the shadows of world

And get it right with the loved ones I’ve ignored

Forget all I said about death of the sword

If you can do this, do we really need the Lord?
